P.A.R.X - Physically Absorbing Reality eXtension
P.A.R.X was the final project of my BA Graphic Communication Design degree. I wanted to explore immersive experience outside of a digital landscape, after finding that practical immersion techniques were far more impactful.
The project is an immersive experience that encapsulates the emotion and joy of a theme park into a small-scale, transportable space. The experience consists of four themed environments - horror, prehistoric, wild west and outer space - designed to reflect globally conventional theme park storytelling. The intention of the project is to provide a space of temporary suspension that transports my audience of working age adults to an alternate world, creating a site for relief and disconnection from the stress and noise of their busy everyday lives.

Each corner of the experience featured a different themed environment, with each one conforming to universally recognisable theme park conventions.

This gallery shows my process of constructing, painting and decorating the space. Use the arrows on each side to scroll through the gallery.

P.A.R.X was the result of three months of planning, researching, building and detailing. Throughout the process, I was met with many challenges that I had to overcome, as this was my first time creating something on this scale, meaning it came with its logistical complications.
I logged my process on my social media pages, available here:
