Space for Thought

Space for Thought was a university project I carried out in second year. The brief was a complex yet open one, developing my outcome from a short zine into a fully fledged social campaign.

The aim of Space for Thought was to get people to talk to one another, as in the modern day, we have become less and less social. This overall goal would be encouraged on a variety of elements, such as posters and a card game, as well as in-person sessions, in which the campaign would provide conversation topics to engage and connect people from all backgrounds.

Posters

This set of posters are designed to not only provoke the audience to think, but also to physically engage with the content - the positioning of the text on the screen requires the viewer to move their head, and guides the reader around the poster.

Each poster's colour scheme linked with that of the campaign itself, as well as providing a link to the campaign website.

The Space for Thought posters and branding applied to a variety of real-life contexts.

Space for Thought card game

I wanted the card game to be a physical alternative to a website, ensuring that the campaign achieved its goal of encouraging in-person, social discussion. The cards would cover a wide range of topics, ensuring that everyone could be involved, and split into four categories - media and pop culture, spaces and environment, people and politics and miscellaneous.
