Parkify! Industries

The development of Parkify! Industires was the outcome of a second-year university project centered around the rise of AI. Using a speculative approach, I was able to create a fictional company set in a dystopian future, in which AI would have ultimate control over the human race.

This was an incredibly fun project, as I was able to explore a somewhat scary issue in a light-hearted, ironic way. By designing a cartoon mascot and using a bold visual language, I was able to create a propaganda-style communication, painting a positive picture for something potentially life-threatening.

Values and Mission

The mission of Parkify is simple - efficiency over humanity. The company would do whatever it takes to have complete control over local theme parks, resulting in dehumanisation and more "efficient" operation, regardless of potential collateral damage.

Character Development

The mascot for Parkify was a robot called Bit. Designed with inspiration the from Rubberhose animation style, this lovable robot would be the face of the companies innocence, hiding a sinister motive.

Activations - Posters and Brand Film

I then applied the logo and mascot to a series of posters. I took direct inspiration from propaganda posters of the world wars, blatantly suggesting that the company is putting on a positive front. I also created an brand film that encapsulated the aims of the company into a light-hearted animation.

Using classic war-time posters such as "We Can Do It" and "Your Country Needs You", I was able to put a playful spin on propaganda and brainwashing.

The animated brand film for Parkify has a rubberhose-style visual language that could come across as 'creepy', fitting in with the brand's values.
